Applying for Grants

Application is by invitation only. Magnuson does not accept unsolicited proposals. We conduct our own landscape scanning and invite suitable organisations to apply. Our Board meets quarterly to discuss the awarding of grants.

Grantmaking Criteria 

We look out for organisations and programmes that:

• Directly address one or more of our Grantmaking Priorities;

• Have a strong track record of social impact and financial responsibility;

• Are cognisant of long-term sustainability and capacity building;

• Promote locally-led and owned development with sound access to beneficiaries;

• Have and aim to cultivate strong relationships with government entities and other relevant stakeholders;

• Champion a multi-dimensional approach to development;

• Reflect diversity and inclusion in the programmes’ approach, as well as in the organisations’ leadership and staff.
